Star Cruise has earmarked US$25 million (about RM79 million) to refurbish SuperStar Virgo which will further strengthened its cruise holiday products for regional and international passenger.
Chief Executive Officer, William Ng, said the investment underpins the company's continuous drive to grow Asia's cruise industry.
"The Asia-Pacific cruise industry is expected to grow in leaps and bounds, and Star Cruises is well-positioned to take the lead in further developing and expanding the industry," it said in a statement Wednesday.
During the three-week dry-dock renovation from Jan 2, the 76,800-tonnage, 1,870-passenger SuperStar Virgo will undergo a facelift with a new hull design, as well as, a makeover to its cabin, restaurants, entertainment, body-care, shopping, sports and recreation venues.
The rejuvenation programme follows the refurbishments of Star Pisces and SuperStar Aquarius in February and April, respectively, with a combined cost of US$13.6 million. - Bernama
